about me
From my first time practicing yoga over twenty years ago, I was compelled to continue practicing and learning all I could about the transformative practice of yoga. I immersed myself in the science and practice of yoga, taking my first yoga teacher training in 1999 and have not stopped studying, practicing and teaching. In 2025 I am launching my own wisdom schools in order to be with people and create healing and sharing the tools that have helped me navigate every day life.
I have spent over 20 years in the devotional practices of yoga and kirtan and most recentlty spent time on retreats in Maui with Ram Dass, Krishan Das, Sharon Salzberg, Jack Kornfield and Trudy Goodman and Mirabia Busch.
In 2001, I began practicing Vipassana—Insight Meditation—attending multiple silent retreats at Dhamma Dena in Joshua Tree, CA. where I studied with Ruth Dennison, a pioneer in bringing Buddhism to the West and founded the first women-only meditation retreats in the U.S.
I have completed three 200-hour yoga teacher training courses with some of the leading yoga teachers : Saul David Raye and Max Strom & Shiva Rea and Erich Shiffman. In 2023, I completed a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teachers Certification Course with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.
I have continued to study with leading yoga teachers and practices Meditation and the path of Bhakti Yoga, devotional chanting and kirtan. I credit yoga, mIndfulness meditation, and Bhakti Yoga for deep healings I did not even know I needed.
Sometimes we can live our lives never seeing clearly. Many healings and transformations came to my life, helping me become a more balanced, aware and peaceful. I also have greater access to my great passion for living!
I am deeply grateful for all my teachers and their teachers before them, who inspire and inform my own wisdom teachings, as do my own experiences.
In addition to my work with adults, I am also a certified children’s yoga teacher. Receiving certifications from Mini Yogis and Indio Yoga. I have taught yoga to kids and families in private and public schools, working with children from preschool through high school. I have also taught yoga to at-risk youth in schools and at summer camps. I love and sees great value in working with children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. Learning these practices from a young age are so helpful to all, especially children. Even just learning to connect to the breath is one helpful tool at any age but especially while young.
I am also a certified Thai Yoga Therapy practitioner. The first time I received a Thai Yoga Therapy session, I was amazed by the energetic shift I experienced. But even more than that, once I gave my first session, I knew this was something I loved sharing. Thai Yoga Therapy is a deeply therapeutic form of massage using acupressure and massage. Thai Yoga Therapy is an ancient practice proven to support good health by opening the energy lines in the body.
All of these practices are here to help you transform in the moment and ultimately, to heal. So that we can make the most of this time we have here on planet earth.
We are all just walking each other home.
I look forward to creating community with you.
-Blessings, Nicole
